Expand your point of view
There’s a lot of talk these days about bubbles. Because we tend to surround ourselves with like-minded folks and people from our own class and cultural background, we can trap ourselves in an echo chamber of our own beliefs. This bubble phenomenon is magnified when we go online because we have algorithms tracking us and presenting us with content we already support and agree with. Our social feeds are based on things that the platform has calculated to be of political and social interest to us, ads are served based on our past behavior, and even news apps have a ‘For You’ section in which they curate stories, content, and points of view you’ll enjoy.
